We're looking for a AI/Machine Learning Engineer, with expertise in Python, to join our team.
Machine Learning Engineer - Build AI Products for Global Tech Companies
Location: Chisinau, Moldova (Hybrid/Remote options available)
Experience: 3-7 years
Engagement: Full-time, Dedicated Team Member
The Opportunity
Join FulmenFlux and work directly with Silicon Valley startups and scale-ups as their dedicated ML Engineer. You’ll be embedded in their teams, building cutting-edge AI products that reach millions of users—without the visa hassles or relocation stress.
What You’ll Do
Core ML/DL Development
- Design and implement production-ready machine learning pipelines using Python
- Build and optimize deep learning models for real-world applications (computer vision, NLP, recommendation systems)
- Deploy models at scale using modern MLOps practices and cloud infrastructure
LLM Engineering
- Fine-tune large language models (GPT, LLaMA, Mistral, BERT variants) for domain-specific applications
- Implement RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) systems and vector databases
- Optimize inference costs and latency for production LLM deployments
- Build evaluation frameworks for LLM performance and safety
Technical Leadership
- Collaborate directly with client engineering teams via Slack, GitHub, and video calls
- Participate in architecture decisions and technical roadmap planning
- Mentor junior engineers and conduct code reviews
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders
Technical Requirements
Must-Have Skills:
- Python Mastery: 3+ years writing production Python code, with deep understanding of asyncio, type hints, and modern Python patterns
- ML Frameworks: PyTorch or TensorFlow/Keras (ideally both), including custom layer implementation and distributed training
- Modern ML Stack:
- Transformers library (Hugging Face ecosystem)
- scikit-learn, XGBoost, LightGBM, PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras
- pandas, numpy, scipy for data manipulation
- Weights & Biases, MLflow, or similar for experiment tracking
- LLM Experience: Hands-on experience with at least one of:
- Fine-tuning models using LoRA, QLoRA, or full fine-tuning
- Prompt engineering and chain-of-thought implementations
- LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar frameworks
- OpenAI API, Anthropic API, or open-source model deployment
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Experience with vector databases (Pinecone, Weaviate, Qdrant, Chroma)
- ONNX, TensorRT, or other model optimization frameworks
- Distributed computing (Ray, Dask, Apache Spark)
- Cloud ML platforms (AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, Azure ML)
- Container orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Academic background (MS/PhD) in ML/AI/CS/Mathematics
What Makes You Successful
- Production Mindset: You don’t just train models—you ship them. You understand the difference between Kaggle notebooks and production ML systems.
- Communication Excellence: Your English is fluent, and you can explain complex ML concepts to both engineers and product managers.
- Self-Directed Learning: The field moves fast. You’re already experimenting with the latest papers and models before they become mainstream.
- Business Acumen: You understand that the best model is the one that solves real business problems, not the one with the highest accuracy.
Soft Skills We Value
- Fluent English (written and spoken) - you’ll communicate daily with international teams
- Strong problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking
- Self-motivated with excellent time management
- Comfortable with asynchronous communication
- Ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
- Proactive approach to learning new technologies
