What You’ll Do
As a Senior Backend Engineer, you’ll be the technical backbone for our partner companies, designing and building scalable systems that power their growth:
- Architect Distributed Systems: Design microservices architectures that handle millions of requests daily, leveraging Golang’s concurrency patterns and performance advantages
- Drive Technical Decisions: Lead system design discussions, propose architectural improvements, and mentor team members on best practices
- Build for Scale: Develop high-performance APIs, implement event-driven architectures, and optimize database queries for sub-100ms response times
- Own End-to-End: Take features from technical specification through deployment, monitoring, and optimization
- Collaborate Globally: Work directly with CTOs and engineering teams in PST/EST/GMT time zones, participating in architecture reviews and strategic planning
Technical Requirements
Core Expertise
- 5+ years of backend development experience, with 3+ years of production Golang
- Deep understanding of Go’s concurrency model (goroutines, channels, sync primitives)
- Experience building RESTful and gRPC APIs at scale
- Strong knowledge of microservices patterns and distributed systems principles
System Design & Architecture
- Proven track record designing systems handling 100K+ RPS
- Experience with event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS)
- Database expertise across SQL (PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (Redis, MongoDB, Cassandra)
- Understanding of CAP theorem, consistency models, and distributed transactions
- Container orchestration with Kubernetes and Docker
Modern Backend Stack
- Cloud platforms: AWS/GCP/Azure (at least one in production)
- Infrastructure as Code: Terraform, CloudFormation
- Observability: Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, distributed tracing
- CI/CD pipelines and GitOps workflows
- Message queuing and streaming systems
Engineering Excellence
- Test-driven development with >80% code coverage standards
- Performance profiling and optimization experience
- Security best practices and OWASP knowledge
- Code review expertise and mentoring capabilities
